    Unhappy oil consumption

So after I installed the patriot dual valve springs I started to notice that I am burning oil. It burned through about 1-2 quarts in about 1,000 miles. I made damn sure all the seals were fully seated when I put them in but it still seems like the seals would be the problem. Also, does it matter that the stock spring base and seal is all the same piece, and the spring base and seal are seperate with the patriot dual spring kit? I heard that if you do NOT put sealant on the intake rocker arm bolts that it would consume oil and I did not use any sealant on the rocker arm bolts. If it matters, I am currently running scorpion 1.8:1 roller rockers. Need help.....

Do you have ported heads? I've only seen it do the oil consumption on ported heads, oil going through the rocker arm bolts.

I'm convinced that it has something to do with your pcv system and that STS turbo. That's where I'd start looking.

springs wont make it consume more. if your turbo, wouldnt it be attributed to blow-by?

in any case...welcome to working with a modified LSx motor. mine consumes about a quart every 1000 miles of hard driving. its the nature of the beast. it doesnt mean anything is wrong with it.

Never thought about that and now that you mention it, that first 1,000 miles of noticable oil consumption was a HARD 1,000 miles........drag strip, dyno pulls, rice burning and all. Also I have heard that our engines are notorious for oil consumption, usually through the PCV.
