    Rearend time .help wanted.

Hey guys i havent been on in awile .Working like hell .I have been popping on and off tho catching some info.so heres the deal .I blew my rear end about a month ago ,and im sick and tired of replacing them ,so im looking for a somewhat bullet proof rearend for my rearend.I dont really want to go the route mic did unless i have to ,welding perches ,etc.but i want a solid setup. This is what i know so far .I can use a rearend from a 05 + ss or vmax vho.My only issue is 1 is it rock solid cause its still a g80? 2. id like to keep my 4.10s. do they make something heavier or bigger without huge modifications? If i end up doing the 05 + rear ,seems like i should use a posi unit in it eaton ,trutrac, etc correct ?it just seems like i might be able to take a diff route for the money piling up by the time i do that, maybe build or get something stronger. Is theyre like a heavy duty rearend ,8 lug that i could get 6 lug axles for?I think allen did that if im correct.I dont mind some mod work ,but the easier the better obviously. Is theyre a 14 bolt setup maybe, that i can swap brakes and etc and make work.Help me figure this out guys.Ive been pondering this around for awile and now its time to get serious,i miss my truck.lol thanks

G80 is the generic option code....it doesn't mean the design and strength is the same for different axles.

OIC. i htought g80 in genaral is garbage.i read that the g80 in the bigger ones come apart also .i guess i was thinking it was the center section.so what yure telling me is a g80 option in the larger rear is probly stronger ?.I just wanna know all my possibilities and weigh em out .

The bigger G80 will also break with a little abuse.

why not just get a 14bolt from a 2wd SS or VHO and throw a TruTrac in it?

red thats what im trying to get to the bottom of.I didnt know if it was a 14 bolt or 12 ,so that raised all these questions.so it is a 14 bolt in the 05 plus ss -vho.?I would say thats probly a good rear setup ,agreed ?Oh ,is that the only years i can find this rearend that works as a direct bolt in.

yeah, it gives the carrier some mass, something that a working truck like your's really needs.
