TBI to 5.3L do I need to keep the TBI harness?

'87 Silverado TBI swapping to 5.3L here...

Everything is straightforward to me except the wiring situation. If I was to get a new harness, or have the 5.3L harness modded do I need to keep my stock TBI harness?

I ask because a guy wants to buy my complete engine/trans/harness and I don't want to make a mistake getting rid of the TBI harness.

You'll need to keep parts of the old harness like the connector at the drivers side firewall, it will come in handy when you have to run wires into the cab. If you decide to use the 3-wire temperature sensor you can cut the TPS sensor pigtail from the tbi harness and wire it onto your 5.3 harness since the plugs are the same.
