I plugged in the fuel pump relay connector from the 6.0l painless harness to the stock relay (94) and it keeps running when I turn it off and take the key out. Anyone know why? I had been running it unplugged before.

Do you have the correct relay, i know painles specifies a part # in the directions

thought they would be the same for 94 7.4L and 01 6.0l, did parts search on napa and autozone and gives different part #s for relays, guess I have to go get a new relay.
Painless says to use a Delco #15-8571 fuel pump relay. Where the hell do I get one? Dealer doesnt have it, cant find it.
Its most likely a cube shaped relay similar to a Bosch but only has four terminals instead of five. They both interchange. Its an A/C compressor relay.
RELAY,A/C CMPR(SPST 4 TERMINAL) I went to ACDELCO.com and this is what came up when I put in the PN 15-8571

dealer wanted to give me a cube shaped relay, autozone had a cube shaped relay ($40 less), but the harness connector is oval, i believe it is a 5 pin.
The GMT400 body style used a slightly oval shaped fuel pump relay.

the one i have in the suburban ('94), is the correct shape, but it doesnt kill the engine when I shut it off with the key. I have to unplug the relay to kill it.
you have something wired wrong or the relay is fried in the "on" position.
