i'm new here and i''m wondering if somebody can help me with an issue i'm having with my '01 5.3 silverado. the wrist pins that hold the connecting rods to the pistons are loose, causing it to knock for about two mins at startup and then it goes away, problem is it's not under warranty anymore and i really don''t want to sell the truck as it's a great looking ride. does anyone know if it''s repairable and if so a good estimate of how much it would cost, i'm not expecting it to be cheap as you have to take the engine out etc but i'm also thinking about dropping a new cam in it when it is taken out if it is repairable...i posted this on another truck forum but not a lot of answers helped out so....anybody have any experience with this?
