    Hemi Junk

My not so bright cousin has a 2004 Dodge Rumble Bee with the Hemi in it that he thought was so great until last week. It started to run like crap and wouldn't idle. The check light come on and says misfire #7 cyl. Told him to changes his plugs being he has 71,xxx miles. So he did all 16 plugs and still the same. None of my friends wanted to look at it so he took it to the dealer. Well he's got 2 broken valve springs on #7 cyl and a bent valve. Dealer told him to replace all springs, one valve and replace the intake manifold. Price $1500. He bitched that it only had 71,xxx and after a little research this is a common problem. He called the customer service for Dodge and they are gonna fix it but he has to pay $200. He got away easy and when it's done he's trading it in. He went test driving today and he wants a new Silverado after driving one. I counldn't help but laugh at him and remind him how mine truck has 99,xxxx and my brothers Silverado has 156,xxx with no motor problems. Had to share the story.

I know about that issue, work at a dodge dealer as a service technician, they had a service bulletin to replace valvesprings ones that had a yellow stripe were updated to ones with blue stripe, for the breaking issue, barely missed on 7/70 powertrain, but a guess they still goodwilled the labor, tell him to trade out of it asap, since he got it fixed, and get a real truck (GM) built, thats what I drive after working for dodge (lol)....

Dodge has goodwill too? Thought I was the only victim and Dodge was too tight. Hate goodwill. Remember the mouths that get food taken from them when you expect a dealer to fix an out of warranty vehicle for free...

If it ain't the customer or the dealership, who could it be?

HAHA--I was about to say the same thing--that should be your FIRST clue not to buy a truck when it needs 2 spark plugs per cylinder to make decent power.
