Realistic time frame to complete a GEN III swap (in a 94)?

just as the title states, what would be a realistic time frame? this is assuming the engine/computer/trans/etc is all ready to bolt in and then plug sensors in, and then that i have also purchased a custom wiring harness for my application. I'm talking from opening up the hood and starting to dissamble the old TBI 350 to closing the hood back down and firing her up?

Reason I ask is I want to get to this swap this summer while i am home from college. I will be working full time, but I am hoping to be able to park the truck during the last couple weeks of summer and do the swap, but I cant be having it nowhere close to finished and then have to head back to school. Both my dad and myself are pretty mechanically inclined and he has done his fair share of engine rebuilds/swaps in his day, its just the newer electronics that I guess would pose the biggest problem.

    thanks guys

I personally don't see any reason why you can't get it done in a week, provided all your ducks are in a row. I would start as early as possible though, because s@@t happens to the best of us.

if you have all the tools needed, the engine and tranny is ready to go, and you have some help, you should be able to knock it out in a weekend.

If this is your first swap I would say a month.

There is no way I could have got mine done in a weekend(but I did all the work myself, it will be nice to have your dad helping you).

A bunch of little stuff will come up and you'll have to make a bunch of trips to autozone.

That being said its a great project and its fun to learn so much!

    Good luck.

Takes me 3 days if I have everything. I'd say two weeks being a first timer and me not knowing your mechanical skills. Its easy for me to do one in a week working in the evenings after my 9-5 job.

the tear down is the easy part, i had my motor and tranny out in less than a day, i also pulled the front fenders, grille headlights, radiator support, and hood since i needed new front fenders and hood anyways.

that is all i have done for now, i am waiting on my body guy to get a cab corner replaced.
