    Removing Truck Fan

Just purchased an LM4/4L60E from a '04 Trailblazer EXT and the engine has this HUMUNGOUS! fan on it. Can anyone help me understand how to remove the fan from the water pump?

    Thanks.

leave a fan belt on there. Put a large crescent wrench, or go rent or buy the correct fan wrenches, and knock it with a hammer. The wrench goes on the nut holding the fan assembly to the water pump pulley. From above, knock it towards the passenger side to loosen it, if I remember correctly.

If that dont work witch it didnt on mine take the belt off and use a strap wrench on the pulley. A rubber one would be best.

I put a vice grip on the pulley positioned below the water pump, then used a big crescent wrench on the nut and loosened it with one whack from a small sledge.

    Thanks.
