    cat converter ?

ok ,back b4 the tranny blew on me i had a huge issue with gas ,ended up beeing the regulator dumping gas directly in my intake badly ,so 3 oil changes later and ALOT of gas out of the tail pipe litterally its sounds funny and ive lost some low end snap.i was easily hitting it at 30-40 mph and roasting the 20s right off it ,now its not doing so good.i changed the plugs several times and today and they looked perfect today but i changed them any way and gapped at .32 .i do usually gap at .35 except the last 2 times .maybe thats an issue idk if that can cause that much power loss.anyway my exhaust doesnt sound right it sounds muffled at light acceleration, wide open sounds the same as usual.ive read alot about aftermarket high flow cats going bad quik .i was wondering if the gas issue could of ruined them quicker.im not talking alittle gas im talking gallons.it took 2 days to clear it up.any sugg guys ,seems like the only 2 things that i did at the time frame.changed plugs because of gas problem.ive always ran 35 tho on the plugs until then also.im more concerned about the converters .boy ive missed this for the last 3 weeks .lol.thanks again for opinions.

remove the cats and see if it fixes it. Chances are that they're plugged up from all that raw fuel running through there.

Interesting. What kinda cats do you have and have you thought about calling the mfg. Factory cats have precious metals in them that should not be that affected by the Gas running through them.

theyre a vibrant high flow aftermarket cat i just installed them about 3 months ago ,i think theyre ceramic inside,it looked yellw tannish inside when new so im assuming ceramic.im thinking all the fuel ruined them ,but im not sure if that typical or not.in my cenerio.

Yes, chances are that they are ruined. Excess fuel being dumped on them kills them quick. This next time around, have a 3-bolt flange welded in front and back of the cats so that you can take them in and out as necessary. Is your tune calibrated to run cats for you emissions up there? If so (and since you have HPT), do the 3-bolt flange thing. This way, you can take the cats out when not needing an inspection, and then pop them back in and retune it when you need to go in and have an inspection done...

my thought precisely.txarc.although i do lose low end pewer when i take them off.it happened when i took my x pipe off also then i put my cats on and regained my power.i guess i need that backpressure ,maybe WE could come up with an alternative sugg for the lowend loss.i really dont want too go through the trouble of putting the x back in position.so im open for sugg.thanks guys

Well if you don't wanna loose low end power, just put new high flow cats back in... But still do the 3-bolt flange idea...

unscrew your front O'2s if you want to see if your cats are clogged. And drive around a little bit, but make sure the open holes don't point towards anything meltable
