Seems my bro fried his tranny hauling a car home, he has first, the rest are gone.
Short of an actual shop manual, what is the best material available for the shadetree mechanic to use to rebuild this tranny?
Ive never rebuilt a transmission but I am capable of following direction, well, usually I just look at the pictures, hey, works for me, and from seeing other trannies rebuilt, seems basic hand tools and a large clamp will get the job done, in most cases, is this the case with the 4L60e or is there something special about it, special tool required?
I know someones gonna be tempted to say put a 4L80e in there...just want this one road worthy, daily driver right now, im sure if he finds one and the price is right, he'd put one in.
Truth be told, he may go ahead and do the LS swap...hes been looking for a reason to go with a 5.3 and a t56....looks like a sign to me........right now...I just want to see what his options are and let him decide.
Thanks
