CEL - Code P0757 - 2-3 Shift Solenoid Valve Performance

    ...No 3 or 4 Gear.

That's the CEL I've got on.

So how hard of a fix is this? Virgil said he thinks you just drop the pan and there it is.

Anyway, just thought I'd post up for some input.

Just sent you a pm before reading this thread. The P0751 and P0757 are codes that get triggered when a stall converter is being used in some cases depending on the rating of the stall speed. Get with your tuner and clear the code. Then delete the test from the computer so that it does not come back. You will be good to go after that. Vince

I'm posting your PM in here Vince in case others have this issue. If you'd rather me not for some reason, let me know and I'll delete it.

    Vince's response:

The solenoid is covered. However it is not the problem. Have the code cleared and then have the test deleted in the tune. It is a code that is triggered because of a stall converter. I would also delete the test for P0751 as well. What is the stall rating of the converter that you are running?

The converter is a P.I. 3200 triple disc 10½". The guy that got this from you is named Rick...not sure ofhis last name, but he lives in east Texas. Been curious to know if you have any records of the build on hand since he couldn't locate any of his paper work...?

Anyway, so I understand - the converter causes the code, which in turn puts the trans in limp/safe mode, which is why it seems to be stuck in 3rd or 4th when I come to a stop?

Yes I believe that to be true. So you bought this unit and the converter from another member?

Yeah, we've covered this topic quite a few times. The 60e with a converter over 3000 rpm gives this code very often. The sad thing was that when it happened to mine the transmission went 2-3 weeks later. Not sure if it was related to the code though. Rebuilt the transmission after deleting the codes and all was well.

I can't imagine that starting out in 3rd gear for any length of time can be good for one of these units.

First time I've ever heard of the code being given. Learn something new everyday, right?

Anyway, I hope that's all it is. And if it gets hung up (like it feels like it's still in 3rd) I drop it in 1st and just bump it up from there.

I'm assuming deleting the test from the computer can be done with HP Tuners?

I would cycle the key to off. Then restart it to see if the condition clears. In some cases if there is not power to the trans, the trans will bind in manual low due to the shift kit. Maybe not the best thing to do. Cycle the key please until you get the tune fixed. Vince
