i have a couple questions about swaps.

I might be staying in the truck scene, but first i have a couple questions, I was looking at a 2000 sierra stepside single cab v6 5speed. I was wondering if i pull my engine out of my truck will it be a direct fit and just plug in all the electrical connections..or will i have to modify the the mounts to fit....also if i install a t56 tranny in it, is it a direct bolt in or do i have to make my own mounts for that too...HELP me please i need all the help i can get...

what engine did you have in the other truck? if your going from that 4.3 in the 2000 to your engine, the mounts are going to be different, some of the front accessories, the harness will be different, and the t56 im not too sure about, but since your gonna go from a standard to a standard there shouldnt be anything you would have to change. but dont quote me on that

this other truck is a 4.3...and i still have all my electrical stuff from my truck..and can i use my motor mount and frame mounts still?

mine had a 5.3liter..sorry i think i read the question wrong.....


i just found a 4.8 liter 5 speed.....will my 5.3liter fit right in where the 4.8 was

yep it should if it was out of a 2wd 1500. no motor mount changing necessary. same with accesories etc.

yeah, swap them out or just bite the bullet and get a 6.0L instead to swap into it.

if i buy an ls1 motor..what parts or electrical wiring can i use from my 5.3liter.will underdrive pulleys from a 5.3 fit a 6.0.

It will all interchange. You'll want to use all the accessories from your truck engine to make an easy swap. Use the pulley from your truck or buy a truck u/d pulley. If you buy a 6.0L, be sure you get a 2002 or newer model.

ok i'll start searching for a 6.0 too....so wut about the tranny swap?
