    4l65e?

    According to monstertransmissions.com 95-06 silverado's and sierra's with a
v8 had a 4l65e. But everybody else, including my buddy that works at GM says 4l60e. So what is a 4l65e?

the 65e is built for more torque and is in the heavier GM vehicles like the TBSS, Yukon, Tahoe, Suburban and such. It also has 5 pinion planetary gears instead of 4 and has an improve 3-4 clutch pack. I'm sure there is more but that's what I can remember off the top of my head.

I've had a 60E in my (former) '02 Yukon. Am pretty sure the 65E was only offered to the Chevy/GM Trucks/SUVs & Escalades with 6.0L motors for the purpose of greater torque. My 5.3L Flex Fuel was backed by a 60E, not 65E.
