There are special tools you can rent from the Autozone to remove the fan. I don't think there is a clean way to drain the radiator, it's just a messy job. Get the biggest pan you can find and put it under the drain. I loosen the thermostat housing and drain mine from there.Leave the radiator cap on and it will drain out slowly. Loosen the cap and all hell breaks loose!

On the driver side bottom of the radiator there should be a plug you can turn and a hose on the same side that will drain it in the cleanest fashion possible. If you dont have it, well your SOL. Like I was when I had to drain mine.

Yeah, the little hose SHOULD be there, but if not, go get one. It is a f-ing mess if you don't have the little hose...

crazy idea...
what I did was got some boxes that some shelves I bought came in, they are about 2'x4'x4" high, laid them down next to each other, went to home depot and got some of that plastic sheeting for covering stuff up when you paint, put it down over/in the boxes, pulled truck in over the boxes to where the boxes cover the entire front end underneath. The plastic in the boxes acted like a huge pan. When I was done, grabbed the 4 corners of plastic,(now it looked like a garbage bag full of fluid) held it up over my normal sized drain pans, poked a hole and drained into pan. No fuss no mess.
Kinda like a bed pan for your truck...
