    Power steering fluid

I remember the older GM vehicles would use Dexron II for PS fluid.

    Ref: '02 f-body LS1 in a '92 2wd.

Does the pump on the LS1 use the same???

I bought a non designated fluid and the truck is steering heavy. The fluid is heavier than the Dexron II. I also have a wider tire now that will slow it a bit but shouldn't be this much.

I still used ATF in the Fbody pump for my 92/93 trucks. Steering gets heavy when the belts slip or the idle is too low.
See my truck data in the "My Garage" section here... http://www.ls1truck.com/forums/my-ga...tml#post191709

Think I'll flush and switch over to ATF.
No belt squeal, and is also heavy under way, so the idle is up.
