Thread: horsepower gains...

    i'm in the process of ordering underdrive pulleys and a nelson tune...i was just wondering how much horsepower will i get out of those two combined....

    Cool

    10-12rw on the pulley. Tune depends how far out of whack you are currently.

    Since you're a '99, swap in some '00+ injectors while you're in there and get an '01+ PCM.

    The really weak sauce issue with the '99s aside from the PCM, is the lame cam. Even a factory LQ9 cam is a huge upgrade. An '01 LS6 cam would be so-so too.

    Ah, with the pulleys.....12-15 at the motor or 10-12 at the wheels.

    And if you do a 93 octane Nelson tune...um...30-35 at the motor or about 22-25 at the wheels.

    For a combined total of 50 hp at the motor and about 40 at the wheels. Guys--am I close???? Feel free to offer input...

    wow i didnt know you can actually achieve 10 hp from a pulley change&#33;&#33;

    i thought it was actually a smaller amount.. You know how companys false advertise the hp ratings and stuff.. thats cool to know&#33;
