Ok I am looking to do an ls1 into my 91 silverado. I would prefer a 6.0 but would settle for a 5.7 or a 5.3 honestly. Anything will be a big improvement over my TBI 350! I look around ebay alot trying to find out exactly what I want to do and from reading on this board I am even more confused. I apparently need to do more research on the 6.0l's to find out the differences, which model 6.0 should I try to pick up for my truck? Same thing for the 5.3's. I definitely know the differences in the 5.7 ls1's but the others I am not up to par on.

6L, if you want to do FI later get a LQ4 low compression engine otherwise get the LQ9 345HP engine. You'll be needing a transmission anyway, so buy a whole takeout assy if you can find one. That will save you many headaches matching engines to transmissions. Get the 6L/4L80e trans if you're going to pull trailers with the truck.

thanks for the input! I wont be pulling anything with the truck, possibly ever with the truck. I will throw the bike in the bed on occasion but thats it. I would love to so a rearmount setup on it eventually but I am more worried about getting some nive power and still have a great DD so staying NA is perfectly fine with me. Every car I have has a power adder so having an NA truck wont kill me...LOL
