Corvettes have LS1s and IRS. Should work very well together.

You might be fighting the same problems the front drivers have, broken half shafts! I have seen trucks in magazines that have a vette IRS.

So true, most IRS vehicles are light weight or don't have severe TQ engines. It would be good for autocrossing but no real gain in a daily driver world. Exotic, yes. Practical, most likely not.

What would be a good set of gears to use to get max. power . and what would be a good transmission to use with a ls2

I would go with the factory 4L65E. There isn't a better one out there than that, unless you want to carry the weight of a 4L80E. A manual 5 or 6 speed would be good if you like banging gears. I just got where I don't like manual transmissions because I sit in stop and go traffic to and from work all the time and I get so tired of shifting and clutching.

For gears, 4.10s are great all around gears. You could go as high as 4.88s if you want to launch hard coming out of the hole but they won't be good on the highway. 3.07s are a great highway gear but suck at the track. They're easier on the engine in the long run. I guess it all depends on what your application is. How are you going to be using the truck?

    3.73 is a good all-around gear selection.
