How much amp you want to run? Ported, sealed, t-line? RE audio makes some top notch woofers! I had a pair of SE 12's and loved them, loud and low, cleanly too!
It Will Be SEALED,,dont Matter On Size Of Amp,,,need Yall Opinions And Setups I Know Crap Bout Systems Lol,,just Want It To Hit Hard!!
A single RE SX will fit the bill. NEW RE AUDIO SX10D4 SX 10" 2000 WATT SUBWOOFER SX10-D4 - eBay (item 350309984253 end time Feb-02-10 19:07:08 PST)
was just gonna mention if that brand was good haha,,price aint bad at all,,,MY BAD I MEANT IT WILL BE SEALED IF ANY DIFFERENCE
Christian, RE has went downhill. If going sealed, go with a W6v2 or W7. The RE SX won't like sealed. I know this for a fact.
Infinity reference FTW!!!!!!! Crutchfield has the reference 10" and 12" on sale for $50 right now!!!! One of these 10s hits harder than the two MTX 10s I used to have.
Infinity 1052w Reference Series 10" subwoofer with dual 4-ohm voice coils at Crutchfield.com
I know, but this is the older model of RE. Yes, the SX won't like sealed as much as it will like ported, but it will still pound. Try a SE series 10" then. RE AUDIO SE-10 10" SUB WOOFER CAR SUBWOOFER SE10 D4 new - eBay (item 360224770473 end time Feb-08-10 11:01:08 PST)
Solobaric Classic, 12" only requires .88 sealed.
Why not go with a 12?
I loved my single Alpine Type-R 12. Hit pretty hard in a shitty prefab box with my Rockford BD1000.1 amp.
I had wanted to go back with another one but since it won't fit under the seat I will be going with an AudioQue SD12. Audioque: Street Duty: SDC2.5
With a box that big you should be able to use two or three 12's.
Looks like a fun box, glad i have nothing to do with it:lol:
JL or diamond in my opinion.
i have no room for a 12,since i want it facing foward,,,on the sides theres room for a 15 lol
Trust me, you'll love the 10" Infinity reference
guys ima order the jlw7 10',,one question,i still time to make a port, would it bump harder if i made the port or not?if not so i can leave it sealed.
thanks alot for the input
I fit a 12 Kicker Solo X facing forward... dunno why you couldnt fit a 12? :(
Yes ported is louder cause your releasing internal box pressure, would a 10" 9500 from MTX be out of the question?:ugh2: They arent the best sounding but with some tuning they sound good and they do handle power great.
Edit: Actually W7 will do fine if you dont over power it and stay in the RMS range, they definitely are clean especially when tuned with a good ear. :)
I'm still not impressed with those. I know you swear by them but I haven't heard one yet that sounded great. That box is def around 2.5 ft^3 or better too. He'll need to do a bit of modification to make it sound halfway decent. The w7 will need the space cut down too, but not as much and has better SQ IMO.
To each their own. We both know that.
Do you know how to figure a the port length? If you can do it, a forward facing sub and forward facing port would be tits and hit much harder. Although, if you don't know what you're doing it'll sound like ass.
The W7 will do fine on almost DOUBLE it's RMS. It's a strong woofer. Don't get me wrong, I've been preaching against JL for years... but this guy is dead set on it and I'm not going to try to change his mind. That only starts trouble.
i only have 11 3/4' in between seats:(,thats why.on my 08'.
man yea i was reading on porting boxes, iam going to pass this time on the port.im almost done,,i just hope it will bass still since i left it sealed:(
thanks again guys for info
Give me the rough dimensions of that box, like height in back, height in front, length, and width. I want to see what I can do with that space.
You have WAY too much airspace. It needs filler.
ok u see at the end of the angle is where i put a block plate(blue area) ,cause i will have a cubby and cup holders lol
so that will be the area for airspace,,width-11.5',,,lenght-20',,,height-24',,,angled part 24'
speaker will be facing forward in center of angular part of box

its done, well not quite yet,not sure to paint to match my interior or wrap in vinyl.its not the best but its something lol.my first box
Im running Diamond d6 downfire in my center console box.
would i still be able to wrap it since i already assembled it? ill have to talk to a ulpohlstery guy.
warlock thats sweet nice and simple
Does it fit in the truck now? Looks good. More pics of the cubby!
That looks real good, especially for your first box. I think I would round the edges and paint it if it were mine.
Too much airspace though? A 10" sub should only need about 3/4 cube sealed. An easy solution if there is too much airspace is to build an enclosure that gives it proper space and mount it under the angled panel. That would leave a lot of dead space for amps, NOS bottles, etc.
IMO port the box
the w7 will hit hard no doubt but it will definatly make a big dent in the wallet. man if u run a momo block amp only to the sub any sub you get that is stable at that ohm will rock. it really comes down to how much money you want to spend i personally like kicker i had two 12 inch L7's in my last truck in a center console box like you are building and they rocked and they are alot cheaper than the JL audios but anything you buy is going to come with a warranty so dont worry about that
I LIKE IT!!! Definitely clean looking and cant wait to see it wrapped up.
Hey they have quality some when tuned... just nothing close to a true SQ based sub. :ugh2:
....I'm taking the sidelines on this Kicker convo. ......... I hate them too.....That's all I'm gonna say.
