It's hard for me to watch 1000' drag racing but the U.S. National is a race I just can't pass up.
I know I have an opinion. .200 light? What's yours?

Do you mean Force cut a .200 light? I didn't watch it...
Yes he did!! But he did it for his son in law.
:homos:
he did what he had to do...the tune was good...he just got ouutta tha groove a lil
Make the damn kid earn it.
doesnt he usually cut a crazy ass light ???
average .083. Cut like a .206 this time and drove out of the groove to smoke the tires. Couldn't detune the engine because thats traceable. Cut out of the groove and go up in smoke and you're just a bad driver. It's good business to have all four cars in the final 10 but bad business to throw the race to get your team in the final 10.
I think when you're as iconic as he is you can pretty much do anything and chalk it up to a "bad day at the races". There will be conspiracy theories all day about this one...
Who is force?
Come on Jon...you know...Obi Wan...Luke Skywalker..all that stuff...
robert hight?
nhra has gone to hell.
after they made it a 1000 ft i stopped watching it.
IT was thrown. But who cares. Ashley Force is pretty easy on the eyes...

Ashley looks like her dad :barf: and the NHRA and its racing type went into non-factor status in the late 90's.
I'm with Jon now days. It is irrelevant and it's no oddity I never heard of the 1000' thing. Silly really.....they cannot even keep a title sponsor.
The 1000' was put after the death last year...They believe tracks need to lengthen the shut down area since the cars have got alot faster since the design of the tracks...its a safety deal thats all.
ya, even though the 1000' deal makes for less of a show, its a safety issue and therefore i am fine with it. it was a pretty tragic thing when Kalitta died, and this is about the only option the NHRA had besides taking power away from the cars.... so they just did what they had to do
No matter what John does with the rest of his career, he will go down as one of the greatest of all time.
That being said, I don't look favorably at throwing races for any reason. They do it in NASCAR too between teammates. Teammate A has a fast car and maybe coulda won, but Teammate B is in a better standing in the points so Teammate A pushes him around the track. Just drive your race IMO.
Its racing, and people will always have to face the tragedy of death if they compete in it. Thats one of the reason that drivers race, to cheat death. Anyhow, 1320' is what it should be, regardless of who passed. We've lost alot of great drivers over the years and 1000' probably wont change that, but time will tell......
Really? How many other have died before the change in length? These are race cars and should go 1/4 mile just like street cars should race an 8th. Why was a Kalitta enough to change the rules?
I think you must be gay if you have the hots for a girl that looks like a famous MAN ex-truck driver Top Fuel Funny Car driver.....:spit:
everytime someone dies or gets seriously injured they investigate why it happened and how they can put in preventitive measures to hopefully change the outcome next time...In kalittas case I think he was unconsious way before it was time to shut her down...Most of these tracks were built when cars were not running any where near 300 mph...Faster they go the further it takes to stop.
The same tech that allows them to go faster allows them to slow in the same distance. The problem is places designed when 200 was fast....(north east in most cases).
At least you didn't specify what you think of. :tacos:
Merely a semantics issue on your or my part. No error in the quote.
There are Top Fuel Funny Cars and Top Fuel Dragsters in some circles but I see your point.
Has the river risen to the van yet tonight?
