I have some 17-9 Moro metals and my nittos are worn out there 285-70-17 and I have a 1 inch block & about 3 I inches in front you think I could put a hancook rt03 315-70-17 on there? I would like that.

That's a 35"...right now you have a 33".... measure to see if you have an inch of clearance everywhere when you turn. I'm guessing probably not. How did you get 3" in front? If you just cranked the torsions, go ahead and lower those a little, and probably replace ball joints, that's WAY too much.

Cognito leveling & also my 285 measure 33.46 these 315 measure 34.6 so I'm gonna measure. I've seen 315 mounted on stock wheels with my setup I was just wandering.
Stock wheels might work, but the offset is gonna be the problem. My 6'' lift rubbed with 35's and a 16x8 american racing whee Guaranteed that was with the bars sagged, which was probably roun 4-5 inches of lift then.
I am not sure it is safe to run 315s on stock wheels. Max recommended for stock wheels is 285 which is equal to 11.22 inches. 315 = 12.4 inches. Your wheels are 9 inches so get another set of rims. As far as height, dont try to shove them on. Get a beefier suspension setup.
EDIT: Its not the height to worry about, its the width.
gonna be a bit too big, and rub really bad
i have 305/70/17 on my hoe it rubs alittle when the wheels are crank they measure a true 34 inches the 315 won't work
he can run a 12inch wide tire on a 9inch wide wheel with no problems, Ive seen people running 14inch wide tires on 8inch wide rims and never have a problem except wearing the centers out of tires real fast but to each his own.
From tons of personal experience and seeing plenty of other setups I will offer this:
First of all, stock wheels are much easier to tuck big tires than aftermarket rims with around 4.5" of backspacing. Even though some might think a lower offset might help with fitting big tires, this is not the case.
With that said I have seen plenty of people running 285-315 wide tires on stock rims. I personally wouldn't do it and I think it's pretty dumb to be that cheap, but there have been tons of people who have done it. I was also one of those who did something similar back when I was in high school.
As far as getting them to fit, not all 315/70/17 tires are created equal. For instance BFG all terrains run almost an inch smaller when you actually measure them with a tape measure.
The best bet to get 315/70/17 tires to fit without buy the lift it deserves is to get a 3" body lift and ford keys to crank your torsion bars, then run the stock rims.
Even after that you'll likely have to cut and trim some of the inner plastic fender and lower valance, but that goes with the territory of not getting a big enough lift.

Just because he can, doesnt mean its a good idea. True that some 315 tires will fit. BUT........manufacturers have specifications for a reason. They didnt just come up with it on a whim. Get with the manufacturer of both the rim and tire to see what fits best.
unless he will be running very low air in them tires he won't pop a bead off on the street, Ive been running 285's on my stock rims for 2 years now and have yet to pop a bead off the rim. I am also planning on stepping up to 305's shortly and will be running the same stock rims thats on it now.
maybe yall need to start actually looking stuff up before jumping to conclusions, according to this site ALL TERRAIN KO - BF GOODRICH @ NTW and BF Goodrich you can run a 315/70/17 on a 9in wide rim
I'd have to agree with this.
There are guys that run 315's on a stock rim. For those who don't know stock rims on some of our trucks are 16x7. That's a HUGE difference. I didn't say it was safe or that I would do it, but there are guys pulling big trailers and driving 60,000 miles a year like that.
Well i wasnt really sure if the tire would fit. I did do some research yesterday and found that 315 nitto DRs are smaller than typical 315s and fit fine on 9 inch wheels which is why i said to make sure with the manufacturer. Like i said, the max RECOMMENDED for stock rims is 285. I have no reason to push that recommendation but, again, some 305s are smaller. The consumer has the last call. Please make the wisest decision.
I guess I am one of the unsafe people because I don't plan on putting aftermarket wheels on mine anytime soon, all my play money goes to my woods truck which I will be pulling on a trailer behind my 2000 GMC with the 285's and will pull the same load with it on 305's or 315's which ever I think will fit after I install my torsion bar keys.
Which don't get me wrong Id love to buy a set of new wheels for it but unless I find a sweet deal on some used aftermarket 16x8's Ill stay with my stock wheels for now.
Thats some good and crazy opinions... ill just stick with the 305-70-17. until i plan on lifting my truck.. which ever truck i have owned has been but probably not this one.
IMO if GM had just kept the 4x4 truck a straight axle vehicle, tire size and lift options would be much simpler. Granted they drive smoother with IFS but a 4x4 isn't made for that. They should have at least made it an option haha that would be nice.
i think you'll be fine with the 315's since you're a 2500 with an extra 3" in front.
