cut one coil.
zero just buy some drop springs
Roughly 1 coil = 1"
Maybe add a spacer to the springs you have now?
1/2 coil = 1 inch but it isn't linear. Usually 1 1/4 coils = 3 inches and 1 coil = 2 inches. Since you're wanting an inch or so I'd say 1/2 coil and let it settle.......and use a cutting wheel.
Im having a similer problem I have belltech 3" drop springs . Its too loose and mushy bottoms out when I drive it hard. Can you cut stock springs ? Will they seat properly? Safe? How about shocks any suggestions ? I got belltech nitro shocks they suck bad .anyone run QA1?
Ive seen the stock spings cut and was just fine. Just dont use a cutting torch. Use a cutting WHEEL so you dont over heat the spring and cause fatigue which will make them sag lower and un even.
My 92 actually rode better on a cut coil spring than on an engineered aftermarket spring. :thumb:
i'm going to do 3/4 of a coil....i'll let y'all know how it turns out Saturday
so if i cut 1 and 1/4 coils out it will drop 3 in how will that ride? thanks
it wont ride bad, it will be soft. run a nice set of monroe shocks. if its to soft you can run some toxic/explorer procomp shocks.
nice way cheeper than springs ima do that and axel flip the ecsb thanks guys
going to the shop to get started. i'll post some pics!
let me know how it rides and how bad it throws off your alignment
nice do you like it
did it throw you alignment off any
see cut coils arent that bad, glad it all worked out.
nice i plan on doin this very soon as soon as i get my axle flip kit and new tiers for my 20s
