Both being stock, the Jeep would win. However, the SS has a lot more options for mods, not to mention it's a GM!! Chrysler=:barf:
Yea stock vs stock jeep would win.
Just a few small mods like tune and exhaust I believe the TBSS will win. Right Kurt?
I think the SRT-8s run somewhere around 12.8s stock!
The SRT8 would win stock vs. stock but, who keeps theirs stock?:blahblah: Slap a tune, intake and a 3600 stall in a TBSS and your right with, if not infront of a srt8 jeep. If I'm not mistaken, the jeep comes with that stall. The LS platform IMO is better. The mod/tune market for the SS is greater. I've seen one SRT8JGC at the track, with intake and exhaust, run a 13.3 and watched him back it up with the same time. With intake, headers/exhaust, Nelson tune and only 800 miles on the SS, I ran 13.4 with a :(2.1 60ft time:(. I'm launching better and with more miles on her, I feel it's a little stronger now? Either way you go, they are both impressive suv's and a force to be reckoned with, especially on the street.
last I heard theirs no real way too custom tune the Chrysler vehicles... I read that in hot rod magazine, and didn't hennessy have a version of the srt jeep?
Stock to Stock the jeep woudl win hands down.
i was at Hennesy's track this weekend and his heads/cam SRT-8 pulled off a whooping 13.3...i was rolling laughing cause he ran slower/right at stock times...i love both of them but you just cant beat the aftermarket world that is there for Chevy's so the TBSS has a lot more potential in the end
Yes--to both statements. The Jeep is faster stock-to-stock, but as everyone else has stated, only a few mods are needed to get the TBSS to outrun a SRT8 GC. Too bad for Chrysler making their $hit the way they did--and not being about to custom tune their stuff. The Diablo programmer is really the best thing to a custom tune for a GC.
Hennessey has a SRT 600 version. It is a turboed version of the 6.1L Hemi.
i seriously cant believe that people are even considering a jeep.
:ugh2:- I'm not even gonna comment it's not worth it, it would be like me commenting on the Z06 that I know nothing about. All I can say that with just a tune and CAI this past weekend at Ennis when temps were in the highs 80's, DA was +2200 and running heat soaked I was still running 13.12 enough said. My 12.79 was back in October when the temps were 45 degrees, DA was minus 1100 and the Jeep had been sitting at Little River for 4 hours before being the first to go down the track. This debate has gone on way too long on one of the SRT sites and it got ugly. Look if you do not plan on modding, want something fast and different and have about 40-45 grand buy the Jeep. If you plan on modding and are familiar with the TBSS engine buy that. Talking to many of the TBSS owners they are all worried about their transmissions not holding up to all these bolt-ons they are putting on the TBSS to "KEEP UP" with the SRT Jeep so keep that in mind
This is what it took to take my basically stock Jeep on Friday night at Ennis, TBSSOWNERS.COM (224/230 112+4, Kooks LTs, 3400 Vig. TC, ADM MAF, fender mount CAI, PCM4LESS race tcm ) member Saladbar met me at the track and we had a blast I was running 13.2's he was running 12.7 and 12.8's at the end, he was running drag radials as well.

I do like the srt jeep, but as for all cars or as you mentioned the tbss owners you talked too worrying about they're trannys, you start modding more and more you will eventually break you have too expect the worse, how much does the tbss run off the show room floor?
AND the TBSS sites. There are some real ignorant TBSS and JeepSRT8 guys out there that ruin it for the rest of us. This is actually the first time I've commited on this subject cause it starts a huge stink and feelings always get hurt. Like I said in a previously in this thread, you will not be disappointed in either and every vehicle has it's weak points. For the TBSS, it's the transmission(emagine that GM?) but, I think it's mostly the AWD guys. Not to just bash GM tranny's, I think Crysler has had their far share of tranny issues as well.
To answer OP question, mine is fully loaded except tv's - $33,500 out the door.
i thought you said you werent going to comment...lol its not that serious dude so dont get all offended but people buy the jeep to be different. they feel like they are being like everybody else. i never said anything bad about the jeep. but if chrysler is so bad ass why cant they sell anything. chevrolet is a company that has products that stick longer. its just true... what do you see people buying and modding chevys or dodges. i like dodges too .. just not enough to buy. and not enough to buy just to be different. the one thing i hate is dodge has put the hemi in everything but the sebring. i mean really.... you got give credit where its due. not to take anything away from the jeep. but general consensus says chevy is better..sorry:ugh2:
either one, but the ls motors have a larger aftermarket in every area. either way great suv's. i drove a reg v6 GC a few years ago 06? and i loved it except it had no power. im sure the SRT's are sick, but IF it were me i could see myself buying a tbss for 10k less and being happy. either way they are badass, and id love to get a ride in wades if hed ever meet up with us!
I've been around both the TBSS and SRT8. And I think wade knows that I am in love with his jeep. The interior is awesome. Then again the exterior is too. For the TBSS same goes for interior and exterior. I think that the Jeep is more rare to see on the road.
If your going to but somehting and want it to be fast and nice out of the factory and dont plan on modding than the Jeep is the way to go.
If you want something that is very mod friendly and you plan on modding than the TBSS is the way to go.
But stock for stock the jeep would pull out the win by a lot. Ive raced a stock TBSS at ennis and he ran like a 14.4. I know they are quicker than that out of the factory but thats what he ran.
Yeah, I do agree with you Wade--and Kurt--about the debate between the SRT and SS guys. There are some douce bags on both sides of the fence with ruins it for everybody. All in all, we should just concentrate on the simple fact of friendly brand rivarly and to race what you brought. The Jeep has the upper hand on the TBSS just because it has a larger motor with more HP and torque, not to mention a 5 speed auto and AWD. The TBSS is cheaper, has a smaller motor, 4 speed auto, the availability of AWD, and less power from the factory. With that said--facts are facts--and the SRT-8 GC would beat a TBSS stock. Hands down. But the TBSS does have the ability of aftermarket mods and the SRT-8 GC really doesn't. If you look at it from a money standpoint, if you have $45k in your hand and one guy buys a SRT-8 GC and another guy buys a TBSS, the SRT-8 GC owner can only buy the vehicle and have no money left over to spend on mods. The TBSS owner has roughly $12k to spend in mods. One could easily spend $4k in mods to the TBSS and it would easily beat a SRT-8 GC. But all in all, it comes down to what you want. Both vehicles are very nice and are the factory performance version of a plain SUV.
Wade, Saladbar is a great guy and he has a very nice and quick truck. You guys are the reason why there is friendly competition between brands.
Yeah--sorry about that. I got SWAMPED at work on Friday---I didn't leave here until 6:30 pm or so. then by the time I got home and went to the gym, it was almost 9 pm. I figured it would be waaaay too late to get up and drive an hour to get there at 10:30 and then only be there for like 7 minutes before everything was done.
AWWWW--you booked US a King Size bed?!?!? DAMNIT. I would have loved to stay with you....
Seriously--you have got to be kidding, right? But yeah, that was my bad. I should have called to tell yas I couldn't make it. Sorry mom. :ma:
it really all depends on which one you like better only you can awnser that
stock, the jeep will win but chrystler does not have the aftermarket support that chevy has.
you can make a tbss faster than the srt jeep can ever be.
IF I only had the money

They broke the 2nd driveshaft and still have not tuned it properly and have not hit it with nitrous yet

Dear Sweet Jesus...
I presume that my pacesetter headers on my silverado wont work on a TBSS due to the frame.. is that right?
Ok, completely off topic, but yes--they will not fit on a TBSS.
already have them on my silvy right now.. I'm about to take everything off and attempt to sell what I can.
$1,000 for some TBSS headers seems kinda steep compared to what I paid for my silvy headers.
He was talking about buying a TBSS...
lol, oh in that case I already am.. taking over payments of the parents 06 silver 2wd TBSS in July.. I'll be driving it back from florida and they are going to trade in my silvy..

Sweet ass man! You're gunna love it! It will do waaaaay more than the 4.8L ECSB ever could.
De-mod the Silvy and sell off the parts. Use the cash-money for new ones on the TBSS.
I have a set of Kooks 1 3/4" LT headers for that TBSS.
Thats what I'm talking about right thar now.
