Well the thing is my day job I work and hour away from home as a trim/cabinet carpenter. All the work I do on trucks is my nights/weekend job at my shop leaving me little to no time to work on mine. The good news is I will still come out to watch meet some people and run a video camera. My brother n I are taking his truck again some of u might have seen it run last year.
U guys are natural don kings hah
Are there any LS based single digit trucks or mini trucks north of SA or Austin?
 :beer2:
Sounds like there are going to be more than a handful of single digit trucks this year.
truckless? I heard you had 2 trucks coming this year? Im running my same old sonoma that I had since 98.
I wrecked it at the end of last year , Im working on fixing it this weekend and should know whether or not i will be able to make it or not. If it does, it will have a few war wounds on it , but it should run ok.
still a car tho
Lol Damm my threads always get good ! Too bad my truck won't make it this year :/
So wait, I'm confused.
My truck is a full size truck and it has a Truck engine, 6.0, but since it's derived from a car engine , my truck has a car engine?
I'll definitely be changing it out then, because I don't wanna be classified as a car, since I drive a truck.
But your truck has a car engine and is in a car?
A car should be faster than a truck , right?
since when is a s10 a car? does down south plate them differently?
s10s are plated the same as my 02 silverado......some s10s are even heavier then some silverados
What is the name of this website? LS1 truck? Car motor!
It doesn't matter at all! These guys think they are going talk trash and call my truck a car and get under my skin. It's not working, your argument is invalid. They are just all butt hurt because a truck with an outdated technology car motor is going to spank them asses!
I did say ls based... The technology that is in your truck came from a car, plain and simple. Not that it really changes anything. Doesn't matter what motor is in it at all. The old blue truck has a cotton gin motor in it, are we going to call that a cotton gin? That cotton gin is fastest truck I have seen at this event 2 years in a row.
Is getting warm in here. Ladies are sweating.
Will be nice to see those 2 sport side ugly color trucks race the 1/4 mile.(slammed vs farmtruc)
Will be shameful to have a mini tiny truck with a LT1 & bolts on win again.
Should be the fastest event to date!
Really looking forward to watching all these grudge races take place.
Maybe they are calling my truck a car because they don't want me to come?
Which old blue truck u saying was the fastest ?
Ok I kind of was thinking that one but never saw it run a decent time unless I missed it , I did see that red Colorado beat it though due to wheel spin of course .whats that lil truck run ?
Same set up (car or truck engine setup) will be totally different in a full size vs a mini truck. Power to weight is what any time boils down too. If I wanted to win the shootout every year, I would have an S10 or El Camino built with half the money the Full Size guys spend and win every time. Anyone can take it as trash talk or whatever they want, it is the simple truth. Obviously I could care less or I would pour ALOT more money at my truck and it would not weigh a ton.
old blue ford with the 6cyl runs in the 8's I'm pretty sure. And to say that an S10 can be built for half the money to keep up with the big boys I woulds say is a bit of a stretch. The S-10 arent really that light. They do make way more stuff for them in the Drag race dpt.
It's a 35 Chevy truck from down around Victoria that ran 8.40s. Last year. They should have won the last 2 years. 2011 they broke the input shaft in qualifying and last year they spun the tires due to something on the track. This may be their year if I can't get my buddies there.
I am not saying your truck is a car by no means but its for sure not heavy ur race weight is lighter than my camaro by it self.
