HPtuners has just released their latest version. This time they included real time tuning! I cant wait to buy my license for it. Should make tuning tons easier. You can now make changes while driiving down the road and do tons of trial and error without ever shutting the truck off! Should make tuning hella easier for Allen!

Damn, I was just looking at their pricing schedule to add vehicles

$99 to add a single year GenIII vehicle model(2 credits). $299 to add all vehicles of a specific year GenIII model(6 credits).
$199 to add a single year GenIV vehicle(4 credits). $599 to add all vehicles of a specific year GenIV model(12 credits).

Okay, so you get 8 credits with a new license. Supposed you have a GenIV vehicle. Poof, 4 of your 8 are gone as soon as you upload to the PCM. You do your buddies same year vehicle and the other 4 are consumed. Now, to do the next vehicle will cost you $199. OUCH! Sure, you could have chosen to do all vehicles same year as your's but that would cost you an extra $199 up front for the credits to but the unlimited vehicles of that year model.

I guess this would be okay for a one vehicle license but their new pricing schedule causes me concern when it comes to adding more vehicles. We're contemplating getting a new Colorado crew cab and I will want to upgrade the tuning package for it once we buy it.

I now see why it costs so much for tunes. The unlimited license suite is major expensive.

I like the idea of the next release, automatic PCM tuning. I wonder if the means all you will have to do is hook the HPT up to the OBDII port, go for a 50 mile drive through all types of driving and then your PCM tune is maxxed out.
