    Greg Banish Beginners Video Review

I bought the Calibrated Success video last week, and I just got around to watch it tonight. All I can say Is WOW!!! I don't mean that in a good way either, that was the biggest waste of $250.00 I have EVER spent.

    1. Screen shots were horrible, most of the laptop footage was so blurred I couldn't even read it.

    2. Everything he talked about had to deal with dyno tuning, F*** that I thought this was supposed to be a beginners video?? I have a 4 post car lift, not a dyno!!

    3. Then the 2nd disc they include, which is suppoesed to be spreadsheet forms was a waste. It was all about injector sizing, which I don't care about because mine are stock.

    4. Also the second disc has some crap about racing gas alterations???

I read tons of reviews and everyone said how good it was, which Is what made me buy it. Now I wish I would have just spent that money towards a tune from somebody knowledgeable. Anyways this is my personal review, I am so mad right now I had to vent!

to be truthful did you think after having this DVD you would know how to tune? First thing about tuning is you need to know the basic principles of motors and what they like and what they dont like. Then no dvd or etc is going to show you how to do something. you need to just play with the software and do percentages of a ratio and see what does what to your vehicle. This is only way youll learn what truely every part of the software does that applies to the vehicle. Read the help memos on the HP software itself as you click on each section.

i seen the video few yrs ago and thought it was a joke and a waste as well. The injector data was about only useful part of it and any computer hack could of gained access to that easily thru the nets
    2002 Lightning - GT headed 5.5Litre w/ Twin 7665s
    2002 Silverado - 427Lsx w/ Twin gt4202s
    2010 Silverado crewcab Z71 - 5.3litre w/ procharger
    2000 Wrangler - 5.3litre with some stance
    2014 Xsport- 3.5 Eco boost

it ain't that I'm too big to listen to the rumors, It's just that I'm too damn big to pay attention to 'em..That's the difference

I have seen them too. I am glad I wasn't the only unimpressed one.... Although I didn't pay $250 for mine either. They hold decent 2nd hand value and selling them is usually easy on ls1tech or hp tuners forum.

Quik I agree with you 100%, I was just hoping that by seeing a video it would be easier than reading books. I have bought every book Summit Racing carries by HPbooks, and honestly I had to read each one 3 times to comprehend it. Reading for me is easy, BUT understanding what I have read is another. I understand the terminology such as Lambda, volumetric efficiency and so on, but I just wanted to save people the money I wasted ha ha!!

I can't sell the DVD though, I will keep It as a reminder of this swap. I visit the HPtuners forum daily as I did join, but what I noticed is most of those guys who actually post usefull info are shops or professionals which is cool BUT I have no idea what they're talking about. I was thinking about using a tune loaded into the tune repository on HPT forum, and then just working off of that?? Is that a good idea or no??

Thanks everybody for the responses, makes me happy knowing I'm not the only one who wasn't impressed.

If you would have questioned us on here before buying it we would have saved you $250.

I try not to post too much, only because normally and not just on here but other forums If you ask questions like "what tune is best for me" or "what type of stall should I buy" most of the replies are "use the search function", or my favorite "this has been posted a million times"

I don't like to show my dumbness, I have my build thread I post in and that's about it.

We are going to the Carlisle Truck Nationals with the truck, I am going to trailer it there with my Silverado. The show is August 3-5, we are going to be there on the 2nd though. I just need to get a very primitive basic tune on it, which I think I can do. My plan is to have it dyno tuned by Mallet Industries, but we already had the reservations set for Carlisle. We started it today and It idles pretty good, but it needs work....
