I'm not sure if its approiate (sp) to post this question here, but I'm looking for a hones answer and figure this is the place to get it.
I am almost ready to get my tune. I'm waiting on my cam swap and a few more $$. I live about 10 mins from both Thunder racing, and Futral Motorsports. Will I be better off getting a dyno tune from one of these places, or a mail order tune from Nelson? What makes Nelson tunes so much better? I'm not blaspheming (sp. again) just currious. I wish I could get to San Antonio for a Nelson Dyno tune, but don't see that happening. What is the main difference in the Dyno vs Mail order besided being able to make "live" changes.
Don't mean to offend anyone hope not to.
Thanks for the help.

HP and fuel mileage from Nelson is reported. Most guys that tune just work the top end of the tune. Allen tunes the entire rpm range. He also does updates for the life of the vehicle. Ask your local tuners if they'll do free upgrades when you add more to your engine later down the road. Allen also tunes more than just the engine. Transmission updates sometimes require more or less fluid pressure and shift rpm levels. Will your local tuners change those for you for the cost of shipping your PCM? I don't know but those are hard selling points to beat.

thats a good idea. Except my wife doesn't travel. At least not in cars. Damn private pilot spoiled by private planes and helicopters. I wonder how big of a chopper it would take to get my silverado to San Antone?

You fly in your truck and let her fly in a plane, you'll both get there at the same time lol! I've always had the best, Nelsons! There are others who have had other tuners before Allen and think Allen Nelson's tunes are the best. You won't be dissapointed with a Nelson tune.
