    Hp tuners for a newb?

Wanting to get my truck tuned and local guy is kinda flaking on me. I'm halfway tempted to jus buy and learn to program myself. Anyone have any regrets or helpful info? Thanks

read, read, study, trail and error, read some more and when your finished with that read more. And the greg banish dvd is pretty helpful. Its def not something you can learn over night it takes months and months of reading and studying. I'v been at it for months; iv learned a lot but still have a lot more to learn. Def worth it if you have the time and motivation

Or buy the competitors software and use the autotune feature. Even holley has the ability to autotune unlike hptuners.

You can really do more with HPtuners than other software but the learning curve isn't easy. It takes practice but for sure a good trade to learn and will pay itself off pretty quick if you get good enough to do other peoples trucks.

learn and understand fuel injection and what all the sensors want and should be reading before learning to tune.

Thanks for the input. Really wish someone local would call me back. I swear telling them it's a swapped truck is what's getting me ignored. Only other option other than learning myself, is a mail order tune......and I'm not sold on that idea either.
