We are new to this forum and looking at purchasing Truck Edit, but we are not sure how much interest there is from you all. If you would be interested in having tuning done on your truck, do us a favor and post up to let us know!

Jeeze, when would you have time? Your bays are always full and the parking lot is impossible to get in and out of already. Chris has a fulltime job in addition to his tuning time, sounds like a lot of late nighters just to halfway keep up. I know Chris likes to lock his tunes and most of us here like to be able to tweak and fine tune our tunes whenever we like. Allen gives free updates to his tunes when we make mods. Would Chris be willing to do this?

    Wow,

First of all I didnt know this site was owned by Allen Nelson. No disrespect, but I havent ever heard of this guy. I didnt come on this site to step on anyone's toes, not my intentions. I came on here to get some feedback on how popular/unpopular the newer trucks were, which arent very popular from the 4 responses that I got in 2 days.

Secondly, who said anything about Chris tuning anything? We are aware of the hinderences that are caused by having to rely on someone else doing tuning for our shop/customers. That is about to be out of the equation. We are purchasing our own edit so that these things will no longer affect us.

I apologize if you all thought I was coming on here to try to undercut someone else, as I stated before, that was not my intention in any way. As someone stated above, we have plenty of work to do here, we dont need to 'steal' anyone else's.

Good luck to all of you with your Nelson tunes. Glad to see someone else out there taking care of their customers.

    Lydia,

Maybe everyone got off to a bad start. Glad to have you here. There is pleanty of interest in truck tuning and that is where Nelson Performance (Allen) got his start. He saw that there were almost no tuners in the truck area and pleanty of f-body and y-body tuners. Allen is of course not the only truck tuner, just our favorite and I'm sure there is pleanty of work to go around. Again we are glad to have you here and I think we could be a little kinder to our new friends!

Sorry if I sounded like I was being sarcastic Lydia. You folks are my local shop. You have a bunch of great guys working there who are always willing to help or give advice. There is a lot of truck guys needing tuning here in DFW, don't be fooled. I get people asking me all the time for a tuner that is local. I always let them know that yall are there in Lewisville. If you plan on tuning trucks, I say "GO FOR IT!!" Your company has a very good reputation and if you are competitively priced and support is good, you guys are going to have to look for a bigger building. We all know that after tuning, your customers will be wanting more performance goodies and rebuilt transmissions installed. You might want to even consider getting an employee who can build high performance transmission instead of farming the work out. Our heavy trucks can destroy a 4L60E in no time with a healthy tune so the work would be there for you plus he could build them for your f and y-body guys. I don't know how many times I have been there to see dead transmissions laying around the shop. Good luck RPM and welcome to the truck LSx world.

Thanks for the kinder words this time around...

Red...the problem with 4L60Es is that they are not built to hold the power that aftermarket parts bring to LSx engines. We have experimented with many different builders with the 4L60E and some have worked and some havent. I believe that if you are wanting to hold significant power for a long period of time, the 4L60E is not the way to go. Now, if you are talking 450hp or less, then you may have a shot

Jeff...I wont post any specific information about our products on this site out of respect to Nelson. I wouldnt want someone coming on our forum (if we had one) and posting info about themselves. We are undergoing some changes here for the better of course and one of those is to keep our website more updated. You can check that out from time to time, we will have the newest products, etc. listed on the homepage.

    Thanks!
