A trans-go would be nice, but I would think you can remove 100% TM with a 4L80!

Do you have a 4L80E installed already? Unless you are going to thrash the truck the stock trans will hold up fine. I've seen the 4L60E trans last over 100k. The 4L80E should easily last that long unless you're doing neutral to drive slams. What are your performance goals for the truck? Heads and cam? Nitrous? Forced induction?

Until you go with a power adder such as an STS turbo or supercharger, your stock transmission will work flawlessly. You could have Allen firm up the shifts. The 4L80E transmission is based off of components from the TH400 which is damn near indestructible.

I had 100% torque management removed from my 4l60 with no problems at all, shift kits are always a nice add, so are vette or billet and OD servos.
