I am due to replace my original 6 1/2 years GM battery. Cranks slow when the battery is cold.

Question is what does the PCM lose and have to relearn when the battery is disconnected? I have a tune and is running good. Is it worth the bother to keep current flow via a jumper battery when switching out batteries?

I know I could fry things if not careful.


On a second note, looking at getting a "Optima battery "--cost little more ----weighs more at 38.8 lbs----but would be nice to remote install in the back. Any body using one???
