    04 4.8 knock sensor

    Hey just looking for some help with my 04 silverado 4.8, it was showing knock sensor code so I replaced them both and now it still shoring these codes ??!!! I didn't replace the harness cause it looked good, is there a way I can check it while it's in? Thanks!

    I can be wrong, but I'm pretty sure if you get a knock code it's either the sencor or the wire, jinxed why you replace both. Wire gets brittle and corroded, and it's rubbing on the top of the motor. If you replaced both and still have the code, I'd say it's the wire.

    Is there anyway to check the wires with a meter or something??

    Had the same problem in my old 4.8. 2weeks later it locked up

    You can pull the wires off and check resistance, like you would any other wire. Maybe some1 can tell you what it would ohm out to hooked up

    Tap around it with a hammer on valley cover. check for mV you should get some feedback.
    TO ohm it out youll have to unplug it Wire should have .3 Ohms Terminal to terminal.

    usually when replacing knock sensors its always a good idea to replace the harness. the terminals could be corroded
    06 rcsb, 6two, 231/235, 4.11, pacesetter, 80e, 14 bolt, Nelson tuned

    Knock sensors and wiring harness from GM ftw!!! Ive ran into some bad sensors from the parts stores, started using oem and havent had a problem since... Intake gaskets are a VERY good idea while your intake is off
