I am wondering if a fuel pump controler is a good idea for performance on a LQ9 stock pump. Or should I just make the jump to a larger volume pump.

What are you trying to do with the truck? If you are staying NA go with a single walbro 255 and call it good. If you are going FI, then the next question is how much HP are you going for? Anything under 500 rwhp a single 255 would be plenty

For the price of a controller you could easily buy the new Aeromotive 340 LPH pump and swap it out and have money left over.
