I got the turbo kit on the truck and it seems to be working well. It's on 12lbs and 19* of timing. Seems fine, has no knock or anything. I see alot of guys running meth at or below this psi. How do I know when I need to invest in a kit?

Slowest in Oklahoma...
The way I see it meth is a bandaid for an improperly setup system... If you have a good tune and proper sized intercooler you wot need it

That goes back to being a band aid though. If you run have the proper fuel system and run the correct fuel and the proper sized cooler, you can run the timing as well.

I've always kinda wondered how meth actually works. I had it on my turbo setup. Was able to run 23* timing with 15# on 91 octane.
How is it determined what octane meth turn the mixture into? Or are you able to add the timing because of the cooling effect of meth?
It obviously has to work or companys like Devils own or snow mist and others wouldn't be in busniess
It think it probably comes down to, there's more than one way to skin a cat. All I know is, when I do it again, I'll be using e85 or q16 and the biggest a/w I can fit under my dash

at all times the iat's stay there!?!? what ic you running?? yes meth can help you run more timing, but if your iat's are that low, no knock, a good tune, etc you can push your truck very far without the need of meth.
its just a turbo 5.3 that a couple of kids threw together

meth allows more timing use. its hard to say when its needed... all depends on the build
some use it as a bandaid for fuel system
some use it to cool IATs
some use it to add octane
to say meth is a total bandaid is a crock of shit. Some ppl use straight meth as main fuel

it ain't that I'm too big to listen to the rumors, It's just that I'm too damn big to pay attention to 'em..That's the difference
Using it as the main fuel is totally different. That would mean you have a badass fuel system with no need for a bandaid. The ODR guys use m1 or m5(whichever is better) and no intercooler to save weight and less pressure drop.
People using it for a bandaid would be the guys with 60# injectors and stock fuel pumps trying to run 20#
I would say if the OP has a system as efficient as he does, he could try a meth system as a cheaper alternative to say e85 or even an a/w innercooler.
