    Lost 3-4 clutch pack...exploring options...

    OK so the level 5 lost the 3-4 clutch packs today.

    My one option is to send it back to the builder. Expenses would be as follows:

    $150 shipping there
    $250 labor
    $500 (just a guess) in parts
    $150 return shipping
    $1000 or so total

    My other option is posting this in hopes someone has something they're looking to sell.

    Any other ideas...?

    I can help you change out the 3-4 clutches and the other two clutch sets also in the input housing for a small fee if you bring it to me. I also have an input housing if you need it as well. I can also take it all the way down if you'd like. In fact, we can do it together...bring friends too....

    hell just get an 80e now and be finished. It'll just break again later.

    send the flt to flt rebuild it sell it then buy the 80e you should be able to sell the flt for the price it takes to buy and convert to the 80e.

    I did not think your L5 was that old??? Vince will not cut you a break? I thought this transmission was not supposed to break?

    anything can break. Its only rated up to right at five with out the billet input/output shafts

    would the billet shaft prevented the clutches from going out?
