    6.0 Swap

Let me know what you think of my swap into a 2000 rcsb.

    243 heads P&P
    GMPP ASA cam
    Pacesetter LT's w/ ory
    K&N cai
    Custom tune
Rebuilt tranny to a 4l65e w/ tb stall
The intake and tb I am undecided on, I want to use my FAST 102mm LSXRT and tb, but a friend said I should use my intake off the 5.3. Let me know what yall think.

    Later I want to get a tru-trac with 3.73's.

Well let me know what yall think.

Most of it looks good, but.... different cam custom speced would be best. 4.10's not 3.73's. More stall maybe like circle d 2800-3200. If you have a FAST intake use it. One of the best intakes out there, just more expensive than I think is reasonable, but if you got it use it. Also I would use a different Cold air something with a dry filter would be better the K&N's have a tendency to foul MAF's.

The stall won't be enough, what are the spec's on that cam? I would just get someone to spec you a cam. Give them your mods and then they will give you one that will be good for you rather than something off the shelf. And the tranny will just be a ticking time bomb

The cai is a dry filter I think it's the 57 series. The cam specs are226/236 @ .05 .525/.525 110lsa. I already had the cam bearings installed for the Asa, would that be a problem to change to a different cam?

Definitly would suggest a different cam. Custom spec'd cam is gonna be your best bet, but if youre looking for an off the shelf cam the 228r would be a good cam IMO. And definintely need more stall. Check out Circle D for a well built stall.

No you can change cams without an issue. The ASA is good on duration, but lacking a decent amount of lift. If I remember rights it's a SPEC cam for some racing series. I remember GM making a bunch of these, the ASA, a couple different "showroom stock" designs. All these classes limit the amount of cam lift one can run

good luck with your build, i take it this is a 370 ? stock crank? stock rods? id look into bigger headers, if on a budget id go with a nnbs truck intake, 4:56 gearing

you plan on running nitrous or any forced induction?, whats your expectations out of the truck? dailydriver with some horsepower? do you care about gas mileage? i was always told if ya wanna make a difference then jump a gear or 2 sizes a ls motor loves air, they like rpms, doesnt have to be spun to the moon but 7k is perfect, you mention you have the FAST, if so i never or yet to see anything worth my wild about that intake that a nnbs truck intake cant do specially a ported one, but since you have it build around it, it will want air, lots of it, the more air you draw the more air you have to exit, you have the heads get them ported, it has to be moved out fast, as for headers id look into some 1 7/8ths with a free flowing 3" exhaust. choose your stall last, dyno the truck then pick stall accordingly. a good build will net you 500 wheel horsepower as for a cold air intake get a 4" tube you'll need it

you got a good build going on, just need to match all the parts up!!
