Got 6.0 and ls3 heads for free!!!

So with some fancy craigslist work, luck and some phone calls I ended up with a 6.0 and ls3 heads for nothing.

It started off with selling a 4l60 that I had for $500, then went and bought a complete 6.0 with a custom harness for a sand car for $1000. Then Traded the harness and an intake manifold for a quick fuel 850 carb. Then sold the carb for $500. Then traded all accessories, 317 heads, a set of coils and some other bs for the ls3 heads.

In the end no money out of pocket since I got the trans for free. And I did all of this today. Quite the day to make it all work but well worth it.

That being said, it is an LQ4 so how much would the heads have to be milled to get to 10:1?

If you run .04 gaskets you can mill about .020 to get 10:1. That's just my quick math. I may be off a little.

It took 4 days to set this deal up. I was grinning ear to ear when it all worked out.

Thanks PL4YBOY for the info, how do I double check or verify your math?

Also what is stock gasket thickness?

So I would be loosing .034. Thats enough to make the LS3 heads 10:1 on a LQ4?

1 cc is .006 or .007 off the heads.

There are plenty of calculators online, just have to have the right information to enter.
