    Most impressive thing at SAR...

What was everyone most impressed with? Rob's little 4.8 was all the talk at the hotel. When Devin snapped the picture of him wrinkling a slick like one of the big boys with just a little NA 4.8... we were shocked. The truck ran 14.0s all day long and Rob trying for 13.99 like crazy. He asked a few of us what we could do and we put our heads together. 5 minutes later, he went and made his 13.9 pass, then backed it up with two 13.8s.

Honestly, without any sarcasm (which is rare for me) I want to tell Nelson congrats for tuning this little 4.8. Even with the 28" slicks causing him to short shift the hell out of it, it still cranked out some bad ass times. Rob is a cool cat. I was happy we could help him get a 13. Next time, I'll have to steal the slicks for a little bit because it looked like you had a little trouble keeping up with me on the highway Rob.

His main problem was that shifting so early was causing third to bog. He was shifting into third at 78-80 I think.

Thanks guys I really owe it to Ian for letting me use the slicks and Justin, Bo ,G , and Devin for helping me rip stuff off it to get it to a better race weight. My Shifts did hurt me with low shift points and 3rd at 80mph if felt like I hit a wall. Like Ian says I'm really looking at alot of options for the 4.8 now instead of a bigger engine

Robs truck was awesome all day. Nelson should have got a order for his retune. It tuned originally to shift a lil lower then 6k. I think he will be making it shift around 6300. That alone should get him a lil lower in the 13s. Ron and I talked about throwing some heads on it and long tubes. I think Blake may have h talked into spray. Either way it is running awesome. And whatever is next I'm sure winmake it even more impressive

Yeah, with the slicks on he was shifting at like 5600. Not even close to where he needed to be.
