    Always Race A Truck That Is In Your Weight Range. I Here Nnbs Are Heavier Than Nbs. The Older The Truck The Lighter It Is. We Are Going To Build A 72 Swb With Fiberglass Front And Well We Already Have Marillitas Step Side Bed. Its Hard To Tear Up A Nice Looking Truck Like Yours, So Get A Project Truck And Strip It.

    how did you remove it? It looks like it has to be cut out. How much did it weight? If it was an unbolt, put back to stock later, i'd do it for a 20lbs saving. If i have to permenantly cut it out...it better weight over 100lbs.

    you shouldn't have to take out the whole cross member. My spare tire hanger was bolted to a plate attached to the crossmember.

    that plate can't weight more then 10lbs... not worth the effort.
    blown transmissions are about as useful as 97% of the guys on this forum

    zach, if youre ever my around my truck just take a look, also underneath theres a few things, my truck was at dbrods on the lift this weekend and jon says now i know why this thing wieghs 3900lbs

    how much will it affect the frame strength if you remove the trans cross member and all those tubular supports?

    i was playing around,u dont want to take off your trans crossmember lol

    well on my old truck ,sice it was bagged i gutted fenders etc,as for the rear i cut off the spare tire bracket since i was running a 2link

    i have 4 tubular supports that are bolted to the bottom the the rails, how beneficial is it for those to be there?, they don't weigh much but every lb counts

    yea on yours u can cut off the ones that dont hold the shock mounts.
