Hmmm...a mechanical fan. Why not do some e-fans? Not only would it cool it better, you would have waaaay more room up front for piping and whatnot...

    Thanks guys

txarkitekt - I've been down the e-fan path before. I took them off....hated the voltage drop when they came on high, and they wouldn't keep up with the big motor, hot AZ summers, and towing a boat. The clutch fan works much better.

Hmmm...what brand of fans were you using? My Flex-a-lites work great. I have pulleys (crank and alt) on my truck and I actually charge higher than normal (15.5 volts) even with the A/C on, fans on high, and my system blaring... I just thought having a good set with the correct wiring harness would help clean up the engine bay and give you some more room to work with---as well as free up a few ponies and cut down on that mechanical fan noise so you can hear the turbo better!

I had stock 05+ truck fans, Nelson harness, and a 140 amp alternator.

The clutch fan actually doesn't lock up much at all. Other than during the hottest parts of summer, I have never noticed a difference between the e-fans and clutch fan.

Thanks man! I still have some tweaking to do on it to make it look the way I want it but it's a lot better than anything I've ever done before. I guess that's what happens when I actually take my time with it, lol. Usually I'm too impatient.
