I was told the 2500 didn't come in cab and chassis. Someone took the bed off. Only 3500 and if it was a rcsb it didn't come from the factory that way. At least that is what a couple local dealers, parts men and internet heroes told me. So I don't know.

Yeah, I think 3/4 ton trucks come with a bad from the factory and the 1 ton trucks are available as Chassis Cabs. But it is in a RCLB configuration...not RCSB.

If you are serious about it, you may be able to order the RCSB truck with no engine and then order a 6.2 seperate. I have heard stories like that before.

Just stories. I would bet money that would never happen. A truck will not roll off the assembly line with no engine. A truck might have its engine removed at the dealership, otherwise aint gonna happen.

The best bet is to buy the truck that you like and have someone build powertrain. Trans rearend engine and all.

    well... i reckon you're right.
i just lined up right beside one at Lowe's last night & i'll be daggummed if the rear axle wasn't about 5-6" farther back.

so much for my RCSB 2500 plans...
00 FRC - just top end, exhaust, and a hot-air intake

Ive heard of people ordering a different motor/trans and having a dealer install it in a truck so that everything maintains the warranty. I mean Im sure that you could have it done and custom order a RCSB with a 6.2 from the factory...its just gonna cost you.
