The drivers on the other hand are right up there with some of the BMW, Merc & Jag owners that I've come across, not all, just some....
Honestly in my lifetime Ive see two cool vette owners. 1 used it as a car to make it from Close to where I am in Arkansas to Middle of Mississippi in a hour if that (3 hour trip). His normal cruise speed was 120. I can vouch for it being I had a lil vw I had at the time wound out trying to catch up to him. The other one is Virgil's bud Ricky. Only two Ive seen to drive a vette like they should while cool enough to b.s. with non vette owners. The attitude the others have FAR surpasses the ego of a bmw owners. Sometimes even going further then a merc and jag I guess cause they are faster then most merc's and jags

Wow. Lots of plastic phallus envy in here.
Naw, I will say this as a vette owner. I dont think its the best thing since sliced bread. I just use it as a benchmark for my buddies to race. If they can beat it, they are fast. If they cant, they need to try harder. I might do heads, cam, headers, or maybe a single mount, But I love the trucks more. ANd the truck will be faster than the vette.
Not all of us are DB's.

The bugatti veyron is at top of the chain as far as fastest production car. top speed is 253 mph. This would be the car I would get if money was no object.

    It comes down to this.

Some Vette owners buy for status. They want to be seen in the car and it makes them feel superior to others. These are the ones that most of you don't care for.

Some Vette owners are car guys. These are the ones that will talk to anyone about cars. I hope I fit into this category.

Having owned many Vettes and a Viper, I will tell you that the more expensive the car, the bigger the bullseye. Not a lot of people go out of their way to pick on a Hyundai, but many will for a Vette. Sometimes it does get old being challenged at every stop light. I think that is where part of the attitude comes from. The other thing that comes into play is demographics. The average Vette owner is pretty old and they aren't really into street racing or street challenges. I don't think either party is wrong, they just live in two different worlds.

With that being said. I have met a lot of arrogant Vette owners but as a whole, the Viper owners I have met are even more arrogant.

^ you speak the truth. I could understand it getting old with everyone wanting to race you. WHILE at the same time. If you bought a vette you should expect it. You didnt buy it for people to think you were slow and cheap. As even a status symbol it should be accepted that the car will bring challenges.
BTW sorry jeff. I will list you as the third cool vette owners and perhaps that guy ^

If ANYONE comes up next to me and I'm in one of my Z06's, it's game on. I love driving my cars to the limit and will take a challenge if and when the coast is clear.

Now, I have to concentrate on buying more parts for my S10/LS1 swap. I'm headed out after work to get power steering pump and brackets, AC compressor and brackets, and valve springs. Tomorrow, I will pick up my crankshaft as I had to have it massaged due to a rod bearing failure while in the hands of the previous owner. Saturday, I'm picking up fuel rails, injectors and alternator. Next week I have to pick up valve covers and a power ring nitrous kit.

This is going to be fun.

    Hardly.

The LS1 wouldnt be around if it wasnt for our trucks.

Gen-III small block V8 was designed for trucks and SUV's and they
made a few out of aluminum for the Vets and Maros.

    Probably 10,000 LM7 and LQ9 made for every one LS1 and LS2

Ummmm....it was made for NASCAR an when that was not allowed it was put into production anyway in the Vette two years before trucks. Really. Yes, there are more truck engines....because there are more trucks. Don't forget the Camaro got killed the 5th year they had LS power too...big factor (thank goodness as what POS's those are).

What will really be funny is to see what people think when one of the most helpful and quickest DD truck owners on this site goes C6 convertible one day.....maybe.....if it were to happen.
