    Same as him ^^^

I just sold that muffler/bullet more like it. It was loud dumped but sounded great. Then I ran a 3in pipe from the muffler back and it killed the sound and it turned into a raspy old busted up glasspack sound at certain rpm's.

So I bought the 30x8x5 single 3in/out magnaflow
I'll never buy another muffler except the big case magnaflows.

I had the 30x11x5 single 3in/out magnaflow on my old H/C 5.3 with LT's and it sounded awesome. Quiet at cruise and opens up at WOT.

so everyone is running single mufflers? right now i have dual Flowmasters, 40 series i think, they were on the truck when i first bought it.
it's only 2.5" exhaust but for now i'm just going to tie my 3" headers back into it. eventually i plan on running 3" all the way & i'm not sure if i should stick with the 2 mufflers or go to 1 muffler.

I'm just running a single muffler for now, eventually I want to swap out to dual BORLA XR-1's when I pick up my long tube headers, just not in the cards financially right now lol.

Question still to be answered, do I pull the cats now?

I'd ditch the 40 series. You can still run 2 mufflers if ya want but run a straight through muffler ie...magnaflow, borla, corsa. Depending on how loud you want it will determine the case size.

Leave the cats on man, it'll sound better with stock manifolds. Once you get the LT's then ditch the cats. I can't imagine how ungodly loud that muffler will be without the cats.

I run a big ass Magnaflow, idle, cruise, it's like stock. Stomp on the pedal and it sounds like the world is gonna end.

Single exhaust is just as efficient if it is big enough. I am running a 4" In/Out but of course my pipe is all 3 5/8" or whatever comes on the new 6.2s. My magna flow muffler is the same they run on diesels I believe, tubular, not oval round.
