Allen always has a couple of AR's sitting around. I've been eyeballing a .308 or a 300 Wheatherby for an "impress people sitting around" gun. As in, driving around on the ranch, pull it out, and shoot something 800 yards out.

I have a .270 and a .280. I feel 10x more comfortable with the .280. But I want to set up a .308 or .300 more like a target rifle than a hunting rifle. I'll probably buy a Savage .308 and do enough work to it than no one will ever recognize the Savage in it. lol If you see someone making kill shots at 800 yards with a 2-7x40, let me know.Originally Posted by Frenchy
