Huh? Tuned 5.3 beatin on an SRT10? Either someone can't drive to save there life or I should be raising the BS flag

I raced a srt10 reg cab standard with my ecsb 4.8 and with a 100 shot I kept up with/ pulled ahead a little from a 30-120 race. So my truck that seats 6 with a roughly 400-415whp was a little faster than a 2 seater truck with 500hp.
IMO they look ok, but if I liked mopar and wanted a truck... I would get a new base model ram reg cab, and build a motor for it. The newer rams are a lot lighter than the previous years, but get a base model because you can buy a motor and trans and swap it in cheaper than the srt10 costs.
New dodges also look better than the older ones.
I'm obviously spending too much time on this site, I've lost all the Mopar stuff in my head. If it weren't for my '77 I'd divorce the brand though, The last real Dodge pickup was built in '93

Thats crazy. If I knew that I could not shift into third while racing, I would not take it to the track. BUT a 14.1 @ 101 is about were you should be with those 1/8 times, You probably only lost a tenth or two, Unless you hit 3rd before the 1/8. I wonder if you went from 2nd to 4th if you would have a faster time. How much are you selling your srt10 for? And why are you selling it?
They look good but very expensive to mod other than nitrous. Check on the price of some good headers., WWAAAAAAYYYYY TTTOOOOOOO expensive.
99RCSB Broke because I wasted thousands and thousands of dollars on my truck.
There is a QC here in Cali that does 10.7 but has a lot of mods. Full weight with roll bar sound system and all. Here is his run: YouTube - Worlds fastest Dodge Ram SRT-10
There is also one with just a 175 shot in the low 12's. here is his 12.05 run: Famosa May 5 2007 :: AWDisuzu 12 sec run video by michel95 - Photobucket
Not just 12's but low low 12's. There is one doing 12.02 and another 12.22 both with just bolt-ons all N/A. The first is shooting for 11's N/A as soon as the weather gets better and with a new/better clutch.
You can make anything fast but I don's see a stock 5.3 with just a tune beating one. I went 15.5-16.0 in my 5.3 Silverado bone stock. Actually, I had a built trans on those runs and it would chirp second. I don't see getting a low 14 or or high 13 with just a tune. I now have a low cr 408 and did 13.7. A bone stock 10 will do low to mid 13's and with a bad driver like me a 14.1, lol.
I went to the track with a couple of the SRT-10 guys when I was running the 15.5-16.0 in the Silverado. The 10.7 QC SRT-10 was there along with the 12.0 QC SRT-10 with just nitrous. Here is a vid: Fontana Oct 26 07 :: Fontana Oct 26 07 video by michel95 - Photobucket
The RC SRT-10 is based on the 2500 frame so it weighs like 5500 lbs. At 30-120 they are at there best so maybe he did not down shift. I raced an Audi S4 on the freeway from 75-140 and everytime we took off if I started in 6th he would pull the nose ahead and keep it there until we let off but if I downshifted it to 5th I would sart pulling him an never stop pulling until we let off.
They stoped making the SRT-10 in 06 and the 4 door auto weighs like 6000 lbs so they are not that great in the 1/8 but pick up up top. Like I said in a previous post my Silverado will beat my 10 in the 1/8 but in the 1/4 the 10 will come out on top. Assuming I can shift it right next time.
It was my first time out in the 10 and I had never had any trouble getting it into 3rd on the street. I shift earlier on the street though like 5200 rpm instead of the 5800 at the track. At the higher rpm it simply does not want to go into that gear. If I keep it I will install the B&M shifter to help with that issue. I have to shift into 3rd before the 1/8 that is why my times are slower on that run. If you look at my times you will see my MPH was way off because I missed third. If I had not missed it I would have gone on to beat the 300C and probably managed a 13.4-13.5 on that run. See my times below. Also, here is the weather/DA for those runs. DA Calculator - Density Altitude Calculator - DragTimes.com
If I could have managed to shift right and received a 13.5 it would have corrected to 12.9 according to the above site. IF IF IF, lol.
I have a 5.4L Expedition, a 6.7L Silverado, a 6.8L Ram and the SRT-10 so I want to sell the 10 as I don't need it.

No, He down shifted right. That truck I had ran low 13's with a stock stall an a 107mph trap
it was 4850 with me and full weight with spare. About 1k lbs lighter than the rc 10
If I had a stall that was not stock I would have seen mid 12's... if if if oh and IMO that correction stuff is for the birds.
Point is that the dodge truck its self is too heavy. the chevy is a better platform. A rc silvy with the v10 would be about a second and a half faster in the 1/4 mile than the truck that actually came with the motor. But a 500 hp Lsx is much cooler, and cheaper than a 500hp viper motor.
Point still stands to the OP... IMO they are not worth the money.
