good choice ,i have the same specs, smooth idle and pulls throught the rpm range, definately pulls higher than 6k tho.i think its a good choice for you, that hot cam didnt have enough lift.

there are quite a few available on amazon.com such as Will Handzels book How to build high performance Chevy LS1/LS6 GenIII engines, Dyno Proven GM LS1 thru LS7 Performance parts, HPBooks Chevy LS1/LS6 Performance by Christopher Enders. There are a few new books out that I don't have yet but thats my library.

Cool, I will look into them.

I did find this article that vaguely answered a few questions I had about cams ans installation.

i got the gm hot cam in my truck, and im rolling on 35's. i pull a trailer regularly that weights in about 6700 lbs, and it has no problem pulling that trailer with this cam. it actually gave me more pulling power that i felt, especially on the high way. i used to pull this trailer doing about 70, but now i cam pull it 85 with no problem.

    Yeah sure...

That is an OK online guide. I don't need it for obvious reasons but I followed along with another guy here when I went to help him on a swap and it seemed pretty good. The only weirdness was that it was an F car or something and not a truck but the trucks are far easierest to work on.

I was just saying i can tow it up to those speeds with ease. i made it sound like i tow it at that speed constant speed, i usually do 75 when i go on trips with the trailer on.
