Alright I think I am going to take back the 4.56 gears and buy some turbo parts, I actually think Im going to pull the cam out of it to and put the stock back in since it will work better for what I'm doing and give me some extra cash to buy more parts. Can I use the 7.400 push rods I have with the stock cam? I will also need to get with nelson and have them make the changes for me to go back to the stock cam. Anyone looking for a VVT cam that would be good towing cam or a 4.8 going all out with a lighter truck and 3600 stall this one would be great.

I see you are 4wd, is this truck going to go offroad at all?. If so rear mount would no be the way to go.
    Name: Mark,
God created turbo lag so nitrous trucks could have a chance.

No I we just get snow up here, Honestly I have only use the 4wd twice since I have owned it. Once to pull a trailer out of a cornfield and the other was when we got pounded by snow.

I have the stock manifolds and a friend that tigs so I could take off the long tubes and go that route. Sorta sux I just did all this stuff since December and basically going back to stock and throwing a turbo on it.

I'm an indecisive one myself. Right now I'm leaning towards a h/c/i 6.0. Then I think about going turbo on the 4.8 that's in the truck now but, it has 185k on it. No track time, just want a good towing rig 2-3 times a year. Good luck with the build.

Yea it sux since I still use the truck as a truck quite a bit. Pull a boat, haul mulch, pull our 57 to some shows out of state that type of deal. I am wishing I would of started with the 6.2 but the wife wouldn't let that happen when I bought it. Little discouraging that it sounds like a drag car at this point and wont spin the dang tires unless its wet. I may just throw the 4.56's in it for a while to get my bottom end back and leave it for a while.

Turbo or not, the 4.8 will benefit from the mechanical advantage of 4.56's. The weight of the truck and tight converter will load that turbo more than enough.
Big slow mud truck with a TUNE!!!!!!
