    overlap causes lope...not lsa

lower lsa just means more overlap, but with the duration that high its gonna have some overlap, even with 115lsa

The LSA does infact help cause the lope at idle. Its all not based on overlap. Nor is it all based on LSA/ICL.

You're right. I have no clue what I am talking about. I guess we all have different versions of the word "lope." I consider lope as something like an overlapped cam with a 111 LSA. Hell, I consider my 114+3 LSA as choppy, not lopey. (NO comments on the taillights or exhaust tips--they are looong gone.)

That vid George posted does have a nice choppy idle to it, but Hell, a stock motor with a stock cam with LTs, no cats, a short length exhaust, and a tune to lower the idle RPM can "lope" too.

HAHa, yeah--that was a nickname that a friend gave me years ago. It only stuck for like 2 months, but at the time I registered for an account with YouTube, I decided on that screen name.

Yeah, I just make stuff up.

So say we have two cams with the same intake centerline (degreed at 106) and duration (say 230 @ .050), one is ground on a 115 LSA and the other 110. The 110 LSA is going to have more lope than the 115 LSA.

but saying any cam with 115-118 lsa will not lope is an understatement

lsa is directly related to overlap, given all other cam specs are the same. but overlap is what causes lope...if a stock cam was ground on a 112lsa it wouldnt lope
