    I've put Lexan in a sheet metal brake to form bends. Nice stuff. Can scratch though.

    Everthing will get scratched, unless you put a clear vinyl (such a thing V?) or plastic sheet something.

    I should say, I don't want something that scratches EASILY, which is why I originally thought of real glass.

    Glass will make the ball bounce like crazy. Use Lexan or put a few layers of clear vinyl on top of the glass so that it acts as a type of impact absorber for the ping pong ball.
