Oh yeah, snowmobiles are fun! They're all over the place up here, I personally have an older one, 2001 Skidoo Formula Deluxe 600 which is a 2-stroke. It's pretty quick but nothing like that. Those are 4 stroke Yamaha's, they have turbo kits for them and everything! Some run 170mph. Mine does about 105mph, that's quick enough for me!

This is me doing a run up to around 90mph, speedo is in km/h. 80 = 50mph, 120 = 75mph, 140 is just shy of 90mph just to give you an idea. Looks like a turtle compared to the ones in the videos you posted.

Bahahahahahahhahaha!!!! Old news here.....we ice race every winter on our local lake.

And yes...wayyyyy more $$ in that sled than a new GM truck. OneStopPerformance is one of if not the leader in "ice/mod" sled racing right now. I believe their new sled in that video is pushing very close to if not over 500hp...4cy 4 stroke turbo..

The new record for either 660ft or 1000ft (i forgot, i'll have to check with dad) was just set this weekend at 174.3mph...turbo hayabusa engine with 6speed air shifted trans, it's pretty sweet, but there's a lot going on in that 660ft so people think it will end up being more of a 1/4 mile top speed sled...oh, and it's got a parachute for obvious reasons.

But here's our sled, chassis with front suspension and without the rear suspension weighs in at 86lbs. We're estimating it to be around 340-375lbs total...and we're pushing right around 235hp. We just got this chassis this year so we're still dialing in the suspension and gearing, but in our old chassis we trapped 120mph in 660ft.

    There's no replacement for displacement.
